Research Fields

images/flare.jpg The solar atmosphere, the Earth's magnetosphere, and the interplanetary spaces are filled with plasma. We are studying with the aim of clarifying the heating and acceleration phenomena of plasma that occur in space. In particular, we are focusing on a phenomenon called magnetic reconnection, which is related to the mechanism of converting magnetic field energy into plasma energy in a very short time.

We are also studying the topic related to the solar cycle activity. The activity of the sun has a cycle of 11 years, and each cycle itself has its own characteristics. Predict the activity of the next solar cycle by making full use of image analysis of solar satellite observation and numerical calculation. We are also trying to understand the solar-terrestrial environment when life was born on the earth 3.5 billion years ago.
